Disney Visa Card overview

The no-annual-fee Disney® Visa® Card (see rates and fees) offers Disney fans discounts, park perks and rewards in the form of Disney Rewards Dollars. However, its limited earning rates and redemption options mean most travelers will get better value from a general travel rewards card. Card rating*: ⭐⭐

*Card rating is based on the opinion of TPG's editors and is not influenced by the card issuer.

The Disney Visa is best suited to loyal Disney visitors who regularly spend on Disney experiences and merchandise. Those seeking stronger rewards potential should consider the Disney® Premier Visa® Card (see rates and fees), which adds bonus categories and broader redemption options for a modest $49 annual fee.

Cardholders earn 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars on every purchase, a simple, flat-rate structure that eliminates the need to track bonus categories. Frequent Disney spenders will find plenty of ways to redeem these rewards toward vacations, dining and shopping.

A credit score of 670 or higher is recommended for the best approval odds.

This card has no annual fee.

Let's look at the key pros and cons to see if this card fits your spending and travel habits.

If you're planning to visit Disney World soon and use this card to pay for your trip, that $200 statement credit could offset a one-night stay at one of Disney's value resorts like Disney's Pop Century Resort, a ticket to one of Disney's After-Hours events or breakfast for a family of four at one of Disney's best character dining experiences.

Complimentary DashPass membership

Like several other Chase cards, the Disney Visa comes with one year of complimentary DashPass, a membership for DoorDash and Caviar that provides unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders (activate by Dec. 31, 2027).

The regular price for this service is $9.99 per month. Plus, cardholders receive a $10 quarterly discount during checkout on qualifying non-restaurant orders (through Dec. 31, 2027; this is a use-it-or-lose-it benefit that does not roll over each quarter).

As this offer is available on other Chase cards, this isn't necessarily a reason to get the Disney Visa, but it is a nice perk nonetheless.

  • Select purchases at DisneyStore.com

Exclusive vacation offers

Disney regularly releases limited-time offers that are only available to Disney Visa cardholders. These can include things like free dining packages and hotel discounts.

Travel protections

The Disney Visa comes with travel protections, such as baggage delay insurance, extended warranty and purchase protection.

Earning rewards on the Disney Visa

As a Disney Visa cardholder, you'll earn 1% back on all purchases. Your rewards come in the form of Disney Rewards Dollars.

A 1% return rate on a no-annual-fee card isn't necessarily bad, but several other cards with no annual fee offer a higher rate of return and more flexible redemption options.

When you compare this card to the Disney Premier, you'll get a considerably higher return on Disney-related purchases for a relatively low annual fee, earning:

If you love the idea of theme park discounts and earning rewards to offset the costs of your Disney vacation but don't want to keep up with which card in your wallet has the highest earning rate in certain categories, the Disney Visa could be a good fit for you.

Redeeming rewards on the Disney Visa

Once you've earned Disney Rewards Dollars, you'll have several ways to use them toward your next Disney experience.

The Disney Visa earns Disney Rewards Dollars instead of cash back, making it viable only if you can spend them on Disney purchases. You can redeem Disney Rewards Dollars toward Disney Cruise Line packages, Disney movie tickets at AMC theaters and shopping at DisneyStore.com, hotel stays, onboard activities and souvenirs, shopping and dining at U.S. Disney parks, and theme park tickets.

You can view your Disney Rewards Dollars balance online and load it onto a Disney Rewards Redemption Card when you are ready to spend it. Alternatively, you can redeem Disney Rewards Dollars for a statement credit on eligible Disney-related purchases using Chase's Pay Yourself Back feature.

Alternatively, the Disney Premier allows cardholders to redeem Disney Rewards Dollars for a statement credit toward airline travel, giving at least a bit of flexibility to redeem rewards for non-Disney purchases; however, no such option exists for the Disney Visa.

Which cards compete with the Disney Visa?

Unless you want the convenience of earning rewards that you can spend at Disney and you visit the parks often enough to take advantage of the discounts and other perks that come with the Disney Visa, there are some alternatives to consider:

  • If you want more Disney rewards: For a $49 annual fee, the Disney Premier earns bonus rewards in the form of Disney Rewards Dollars on card purchases made directly with several Disney-owned streaming platforms and on gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants, including at most Disney U.S. locations. You'll also get the same theme park discounts and perks that come with the Disney Visa. To learn more, read our full review of the Disney Premier.
  • If you want flexible travel rewards: The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees) has better earning rates than the Disney Visa and more flexible redemption options for a $95 annual fee. It earns bonus points on travel, dining, online grocery store purchases (excluding Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs) and select streaming services. To learn more, read our full review of the Sapphire Preferred.
  • If you want no annual fee and a simple rewards structure: The Citi Double Cash® Card (see rates and fees) is great if you want easy rewards with no annual fee. It offers 2% earnings on all purchases (1% when you make a purchase and another 1% when you pay it off). To learn more, read our full review of the Citi Double Cash.

Bottom line

The Disney Visa is worth considering only if you can use the benefits, discounts and rewards to your advantage and don't want to pay an annual fee.

If that's not the case, however, the Disney Premier card is a better choice. And if you don't fall into the Disney superfan camp, consider a general travel rewards cards for more valuable and flexible rewards.
