Disney Premier Visa Card review: Good for Disney superfans
Editor's Note
Disney Premier Visa Card overview
The Disney® Premier Visa® Card (see rates and fees) charges a modest annual fee and earns "Disney Rewards Dollars" that can be used toward Disney purchases. While its earning and redemption options are less flexible than other travel cards, it can be worthwhile if you frequently visit Disney or are planning a big trip and want to take advantage of the welcome offer and park perks. Card rating*: ⭐⭐
*Card rating is based on the opinion of TPG's editors and is not influenced by the card issuer.
The Disney Premier card earns "Disney Rewards Dollars" instead of cash back, miles or points, with the highest rewards on Disney-related purchases, making it best suited to Disney fans.
Its $49 annual fee can be worth it if you spend heavily on Disney vacations. TPG recommends a credit score of around 670 for approval.
Let's take a closer look at whether the Disney Premier is the right fit for you.
Disney Premier pros and cons
Pros | Cons |

Disney Premier welcome offer
New Disney Premier cardholders can earn a $400 statement credit after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.

A $400 statement credit is equivalent to a three-day ticket if you visit on one of Disney's cheapest days, a two-night stay at one of Disney's value resorts like Disney's All-Star Music Resort or a one-night stay at a mid-tier resort like Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort.
When you pay for your vacation with this card, the welcome offer statement credit could essentially offset a portion of your vacation. This welcome offer last appeared in April earlier this year, so if you missed it then, now's your chance to apply and start planning your Disney getaway.
(This offer is not available to current cardholders or anyone who has received a welcome bonus on the card in the past 24 months.)
Disney Premier benefits
The Disney Premier card offers reasonable perks for Disney loyalists, including a statement credit, Disney discounts and the option of choosing from over 12 card designs with favorite characters like Darth Vader, Mickey and Princess Tiana.
Complimentary DashPass membership and quarterly order discount
Like several other Chase cards, the Disney Premier comes with one year of complimentary DashPass, a membership for DoorDash and Caviar that provides unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders. The regular price for this service is $9.99 per month. (Activate by Dec. 31, 2027, to receive this offer.)

As this offer is available on other Chase cards, this isn't necessarily a reason to get the Disney Premier, but it is a nice perk if you were already planning to get the card.
The Disney Premier also provides a quarterly $10 discount during checkout on qualifying non-restaurant orders (through Dec. 31, 2027; this is a use it or lose it benefit that does not roll over each quarter.)
Dining, entertainment and shopping perks
You'll receive 10% off the following dining and shopping purchases:
- Select purchases at DisneyStore.com
- Eligible merchandise and dining purchases at select locations in Disneyland and Walt Disney World
- Select merchandise purchases aboard Disney Cruise Line sailings (through Dec. 31, 2026)

Additionally, you'll receive the following entertainment and experience perks:
- 15% off select guided tours at Disneyland and Disney World
- 10% off select recreation experiences
- 20% off tickets to Cirque du Soleil's Drawn to Life at Disney Springs
- Complimentary photo opportunities exclusive to Disney Visa cardholders
Beyond the parks, you'll get 20% off your first year of a Marvel Unlimited annual subscription and an exclusive VIP cardholder package for select Disney on Broadway shows
(Important: Some discounts and experiences may have blackout dates or other restrictions.)
Exclusive vacation offers
Disney regularly releases limited-time offers that are only available to Disney Visa cardholders. These can include Disney World and Disneyland hotel discounts, free Disney dining plan packages at Disney World and more.
Travel protections
The Disney Premier offers useful travel protections, such as baggage delay insurance, extended warranty protection and purchase protection.
Earning rewards on the Disney Premier
With the Disney Premier, you'll earn Disney Rewards Dollars at the following rates:
- 5% on purchases made directly at DisneyPlus.com, ESPNPlus.com and Hulu.com
- 2% back at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and most Disney U.S. locations
- 1% back on all other purchases

A 2% return on travel-related purchases isn't overly lucrative, but you may enjoy the simplicity of putting all of your purchases on one card and using the rewards to offset the cost of your Disney vacation.
That said, other low-annual-fee cards have better overall earnings rates when you factor in the lower rates the Disney Premier offers in most categories.

Redeeming rewards on the Disney Premier
As mentioned, this card earns Disney Rewards Dollars. You can redeem Disney Rewards Dollars toward Disney Cruise Line packages, Disney movie tickets at AMC theaters and shopping at DisneyStore.com, hotel stays, onboard activities and souvenirs, shopping and dining at U.S. Disney parks, and theme park tickets.

A redemption option that is unique to this card and not available with the no-annual-fee Disney® Visa® Card (see rates and fees) is the option to use Chase's Pay Yourself Back feature to redeem Disney Rewards Dollars for a statement credit toward airline purchases. (Note: you must use your Disney Premier card and purchase the airfare directly with the airline.)
Which cards compete with the Disney Premier?
When it comes to spending at Disney, the Disney Premier is a good bet. Outside of that, though, consider these alternatives:
- If you don't want an annual fee: The no-annual-fee Disney Visa Card has a lower earnings rate (1% back in Disney Rewards Dollars on all card purchases) but you'll still enjoy some of the same discounts and vacation benefits that come with the Disney Premier. For more information, read our full review of the Disney Visa.
- If you want to earn points and save money on Disney vacations: The Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) earns valuable Chase points and offers an annual $300 travel credit. Availability is hit or miss, but you can occasionally redeem points for Disney tickets via Chase Travel. For more information, read our full review of the Sapphire Reserve.
- If you want simplified rewards: The Citi Double Cash® Card (see rates and fees) is a great choice if you want easy rewards with no annual fee, offering 2% earnings on all purchases (1% when you make a purchase and another 1% when you pay it off). For more information, read our full review of the Citi Double Cash.

Bottom line
Even with an affordable $49 annual fee, the Disney Premier card only makes sense for those who visit Disney often and can take advantage of the card's full suite of perks.
Those who can't make use of the in-park benefits and vacation discounts may be better off with a general travel rewards card that has higher earning rates and more flexible redemption options.
